Founder & Designer

Anna

My foundation in design and a profound appreciation for nature were cultivated early, surrounded by the beauty of my mother and fathers garden, and my mothers artistry as a potter.

Her gorgeous scented garden roses always graced the dining room table, and I spent hours along side her as she crafted with clay, making my own little designs to sell at the weekend craft market. I learned the art of creation by her side and gained an appreciation of the beauty of nature.

This early inspiration blossomed into my own career, so deeply rooted in nature.

My purpose is to bring beauty to life, enhancing special moments with exquisite flowers and botanicals. I'm excited to share my design passion and to inspire others through Honey & Moss floral workshops.

Sustainable Floristry

With a focus on sustainable floristry I create in an earth conscious way and practise design techniques that reduce any negative impact, so that we tread lighter on our earth, leaving beauty behind us.

  • Sourcing & Drying: Flowers for dried arrangements are gathered and naturally air-dried in my garden studio.
  • Material Usage: I prioritize natural materials and reusable mechanics wherever possible in my design.
  • Waste Reduction: All left over fresh materials are composted, and our recyclable wrapping paper is also compostable (Plastic wraps are never used.)
  • Local Support: We actively support small, local flower farmers and businesses whenever possible.
  • Flower Repurposing: After events, flowers can be repurposed for the purchaser or donated to ensure they continue to bring joy.
  • Minimizing Waste: Non-perishable materials are carefully maintained and reused to reduce waste.
  • Continuous Improvement We are always seeking more sustainable options within the floristry world.
  • Biodiversity & Pollinators: Our garden is a biodiverse space that provides a sanctuary for many pollinators.

The Floral Studio

Welcome to HONEY & MOSS Studio + Workshop Space, nestled in our garden at the base of the Port Hills in Westmorland, Christchurch. This is more than just a studio; it's our home, shared with my supportive husband, three wonderful children, a couple of loyal pooches and even some free ranging chickens!

Looking out over the majestic Southern Alps our garden is a place of calm - and sometimes delightful chaos. We love spending time here, enjoying the ever-changing seasonal colours, the stunning mountain views, and the beautiful skies that grace us from the north-west arch.

We are open by appointment and would love to welcome you.
